News for April 30th
Sparta women will be kicking off its 4th season in May as part of the Southwest Conference of the WPSL. The first game will be held on May 21st against in-state rivals, the Utah Starzz. It will take place at the Orem, Lakeside Complex, on field 7. Kick-off is at 2:30 p.m.
The Sparta Women are excited to have formed a growing relationship with Utah Youth Soccer Association and are looking forward to have the opportunity to begin league play along side the youth during the State Cup Tournament. All other home games will take place at Jordan High School in Sandy Utah. Check the schedule tab for detailed information concerning our season's schedule.
Sparta Women is also excited to announce two new members joining our family -- Eric Stephens and David Newman will join head coach Dennis Burrows and the rest of the coaching staff for the 2011 season. Both men bring years of coaching and playing experience to the team.
We have two new sponsors joining us, as well! Sparta women are pleased to have formed relationships with The Les Olson Company and Corda Technologies. Thank you to them and and all our sponsors for supporting our team.
Our first tryout session was a great success. We have asked several players to return for the next rounds of tryouts being held on May 7th ( check the tryout tab for more information) for college players. We are pleased to learn that several Sparta Women Team veterans are returning for the 2011 season which include many recently graduated players from local colleges. The combination of strong veterans and the infusion of new highly talented players will make this year's team one of the strongest in our four year history.
